How Technology Helps Communicators Stay Connected

Digital tools have made it easier to communicate in real-time.

As technology continues to evolve, its influence in the workplace has reconstructed the way people work and communicate with one another. One of the ways technology has influenced the work of communicators is how rapidly and effortlessly teams can interact with one another. Communicators are often bombarded with many e-mails throughout the day therefore, texting and instant messaging services like WhatsApp and Facebook Messenger, has allowed teams to communicate with one another in real-time (2018). Addressing questions and concerns of team members is essential to maintaining a collaborative and efficient workflow and being able to interact in real-time, thanks to instant messaging and texting, are great tools for workflow consistency.
With the growth of remote employees, communicators are utilizing technology that saves time and money.

With the growth of remote employment, communicators are utilizing technology that saves time and money. Technology applications are helpful for connecting team members by minimizing travel and the expenses that come with it. Technology, when used remotely, makes it easier to coordinate projects with employees who are out of reach, while still maintaining a productive schedule and workflow. Apps such as Skype and Zoom can be used for check-ins or staff meetings, and Slack and Monday.com can help teams stay on schedule and work collaboratively from anywhere (DeFelice, 2019). Software companies are aware of the changes that communicators are facing because of rapid advancement in technology and it helps to have software that will keep teams and departments on the same path for project completion.
